Globalization – Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hide

If you have the task to go to the kindergarden and tell all that annoying little children something about globalization – how would you do it? Do you think you should present it to them as a wonderful invention in the global economy? What if it’s false? What if globalization is the worst thing ever created to make the people in the third world become poorer and poorer?

If you haven’t got an own opinion I’m trying to offer you mine which might help you to get your own one. If you’ve already got one you can stop reading right hear or if you are interested in other opinions continue reading.

Ok, back to the kindergarden: Tell your next generation the truth and what’s the best for a fair global economy between all the different countries. Don’t care about industrial or third world country. Each country has to be able to survive on it’s own.

Many people in the rich countries in Europe, North America and so on might say that globalization is great. It offers all stuff in the world for a low price. It seems as if all the countryborders slowly disappear. But that’s now good!
As long as the whole world is not prepared to exist as a single community the countryborders have to stay where they are. There are enough countries that still aren’t able to handle their economy. Want to know the reason? It’s the g to the lobalization.
All the rich countries ship their – for themselves – unusable economy dump into the third world. Now you might think: “Oh, but that’s really fine, isn’t it?” – No!
The products are sold for really low prices. So the natives in the third world prefer the cheap stuff and the native economy gets no chance to sell their products. They are more expensive. But they have to be. Otherwise they would not be able to survive.

Globalization is poison from the rich countries in the world to the poor ones.
Think about what you support. But for all it would be better to support those who have to be supported.

[Globalization] Containers and global transport

Howdy!
Our topic for today is Globalization and the global transport systems, especially the revolutionary transport medium “containers”.

Containers are steelboxes invented by the U.S. American Malcolm P. McLean who later founded the “Sealand Corporation Ltd.” which is now known as “Maersk – Sealand”, world’s biggest enterprise in sea transportation.

Short facts about a container:
- Lenght: 20′ / 40′; Height: 8′ 6″; Width: 8′
- Volume: 1,169 ft³ / 2,385 ft³
- Empty weight: 5,140 lb / 8,820 lb; Net load: 47,770 lb / 58,380 lb
40' ISO-Container
